purpose to properly set up a personal injury / auto accident account in chirotouch for accurate case management, billing, and documentation related to motor vehicle accident claims when complete after patient demographics have been entered and when the patient is being seen for injuries related to a motor vehicle accident or personal injury claim responsible role front desk / referral coordinator / billing coordinator procedure step 1 open patient account after all demographics have been entered, select the patient in chirotouch go to insurance select add insurance plan information step 2 enter payer information in the payer field, select the attorney / liability company from the drop down list if the attorney / liability company is not in the list add the company before continuing step 3 complete plan information plan name enter the attorney / liability company name group id leave blank insured id / policy number enter self under eligibility > start date enter the date of injury click next copay & coinsurance step 4 skip copay entry in the copay section, do not enter a copay skip to other coverage details click save cases step 5 add new case select add case step 6 enter case details name enter the attorney / liability company care type select auto accident guarantor select self case bill type select insurance date of onset enter the date of accident initial treatment date enter the date of first visit in office accident date enter the same date as onset accident state enter nc (in most cases) billing step 7 update bill type go to bill type select override default bill type with case billing details final check before completing the account setup, confirm attorney / liability company is entered correctly plan name is correct insured id says self date of injury is accurate case type is set to auto accident accident date and onset date match billing is set to override default bill type with case billing details
